There is nothing like a good hair day. It just gives you that confident boost and a little extra pep in your step. We all want to have good hair days every day, but this may not always be possible without the right routine for your unique hair. Perhaps we don’t know the right products to use, when, how etc. or what would work best for our specific hair goals.
So to have more of those great hair days, here a few tips on how to keep your hair on fleek:
Do research on what conditioner works for you
Conditioner is one of those products that can really make a big difference for your hair. One that is too light may not be moisturizing enough, but one that is too heavy for your hair can weight it down and make it look/get oiler than it actually is. If you’re searching for a new product for softness for example, the Blue Lagoon conditioner for those hair boosting combinations that don’t have harmful ingredients in them, au natural!
Use a diffuser for your hair and make sure your hairdryer is at the proper setting for your hair
Especially if you have wavy hair, a diffuser is one of your hair’s best friends. It applies more diffused heat so you still get the heat benefit but it’s not so harsh. Plus, it adds a ton of volume! Some people do better with a warm setting on the hairdryer, while others do better on a low vs high setting, just listen to your hair if it is telling you the heat is too high. So you’ll want to take the time to figure out which hairdryer setting is the proper one for your unique hair.
Sleep on silk pillow cases
Silk pillow cases are so much gentler on your hair (and skin) than cotton pillow cases! They help to reduce frizz and breakage, and it even just feels better overall on your hair. If silk pillow cases aren’t feasible, you can also opt for satin and this will give you those same benefits.
Limit time in the sun (without protection)
The rays from the sun can cause damage to your hair, and many of us don’t think and/or know to add a thermal protection with sun protection benefits! If you’ll be in the sun without protection, consider using a hat or limiting time in the sun.
Use styling product sprays
Styling product sprays can not only help to nourish and protect your hair, but they can also give you great results so you’ll feel the need to use less heat, which is also incredible for your hair. For example, you can use a texture spray, an air drying support spray, thermal spray, or wave spray depending on your hair goals.
We all want really nice hair, but we need to make sure we get the steps to get there right that are tailored to our specific needs. With a little extra hair consideration and planning, we can have even more great hair days!
