the second girl seemed extremely annoying, BUT head pro is right. That was a dick move on his part. Obviously the girl should pay sometimes when you have been dating for a while (I’m sure some you will disagree), and if the check was 40-50 dollars i wouldn’t think the guy’s move was so bad, but to surprisingly be hit with a bill for 100 dollars that you weren’t expecting to pay is tough.
Whitney Cummings has a great stand-up act where one of her jokes is how on a date, a betch should pretend to be rummaging through her purse for her wallet, but oh damn, our purses are so big that you keep pretending to rummage until the guy pulls out his wallet first. If it’s a clutch, a betch just finger bangs it to make up for the smaller size. Trust, it’s hilarious when she performs it. But that aside, if he flat-out asks, um say you didn’t bring your money. Duh.
or you could keep your dignity, pay for it if he’s stalling and joke him with your friends for forever. if you can’t spare the money this probably happens too often for a reason
Working betch, Capitol Hill Style & Corporate Fashionista are two fantastic professional fashion blogs. I especially love Capitol Hill Style because the blogger is very snarky and shares my desire to incinerate all Uggs/Crocs/Vera Bradley. The Daily Muse is another great blog for young professional women that has general advice in addition to style tips.
Head Pro, there are plenty of career betches reading this site who would love more career betch problems and fewer delusional dater ones (although you need at least one of those a week, they’re hysterical). Keep them coming!
the wardrobe advice was really helpful, gracias pro! and i kinda thought the badass yacht girl was a funny writer (minus the nickname). badass yacht girl make sure you drop that guy
Good wardrobe advice! I once heard about a female lawyer that showed up to court in a juicy sweatsuit and the judge recommended she go to http://www.corporette.com some of the styles it focuses on are a little old for the newly post grad betch, but great advice nonetheless.
“It doesn’t help that I now envision you TALKING with the same kind of EMPHASIS you use when you WRITE.” ...literally made me bust out laughing… well done head pro
while i do think office wardrobe is important, what’s MUCH more important is carrying yourself with confidence, poise (and hopefully intelligance) and impressing them with the WORK you do…if you’re good at your job and have a halfway decent personality, you will be fine, as long as you stick to the overdressed side - if you have to question whether you’re too underdressed, you are.
Thanks head pro…I may have been over the top and on a wild tear that morning…emphatic kisses much appreciated and I still love you sans the harshness…Xx
The advice to girl #1 def doesn’t sound like it’s coming from a man.. but on point nonetheless
Posted on — ReplyAgreed…most guys wouldn’t really ever use the terms pumps and peep-toe..sketch.
Posted on — ReplyFor #1 also, when it comes to fit - always get it tailored! You’ll look much more professional!
