So the government is refusing to go to work. WHY?!?

Every year the government has to pass a budget by a certain deadline to continue existing

The deadline was last night at midnight

This year some Republicans in the House refused to pass a budget unless we get rid of or delay Obamacare

Obama and the Democrats say they won't be held hostage by Republicans trying to get what they want

Because everyone including Congress and the Supreme Court already upheld Obamacare

The Democrats are accusing the Republicans of acting like babies

So at midnight they still couldn't agree and let the government shut down

But why does this matter to me!?

This means you can't go to national parks, government employees won't get paid (not that we know any), and basically nothing else that's relevant to you unless you're in the military

The government will come back when they pass a budget

It might take a while (or not)

CNN has a funny countdown clock like it's New Years

But the American people are overwhelmingly against obamacare and have been through its entire process. SO…who gives a shit what the pres, congress or the supremes have to say about it. We are a country by the people, for the people, NOT by the government, for the government. Have a nice day!

I guess you haven’t seen any polls lately. Somewhere around 50-60% are against it and another 30%ish DON’T EVEN KNOW IT’S HAPPENING. Lol America…I can’t handle the lack of informed citizens.

God you’re annoying. Fox news doesn’t count as a reputable agency for polls. I also assume you don’t even know what Obamacare is and are just against it because like your mom and dad are. Read!!!!! Obamacare makes everyone have insurance. That way, when people who don’t have insurance get deathly sick and seek medical treatment from a hospital (who can’t turn people away), you don’t end up paying for it with your taxes. It also doesn’t allow insurance agencies to deny people insurance with pre-existing conditions, so when they go to the hospital, you don’t end up paying for it. As fucking stingy as repbs are, you would think this concept would go over well.

I don’t think my father, a doctor, would be in favor of the ACA if this was true. But what does he know right? He’s just a medical professional.

Fox News polls have an average deviation of +-3 which is more accurate than CNN. You are clearly no Ivy Betch. Second, this “affordable” health care costs in NY over 350 a month for a healthy prison aged 25. This will not help the people who cannot pay for it and will be instead penalized $100 per year for being too poor. Fucking duh.

I believe she said “any polls”. ALL polls are showing that the majority of Americans DISAPPROVE of Obamacare. Not just the ones on Fox News.  Also, don’t bash us for watching Fox News because I’m sure you love NBC and every other network. If Obamacare so great then why is everyone who can exempting themselves from it?

            Posted on Reply
            • OtherDemBetch says:

Nobody is exempting themselves. That’s just a lie on fox news. The truth is that it just doesn’t affect a lot of people because they already get healthcare.
The majority of Americans don’t even know what Obamacare really is because they’re uninformed. Yes 55% say they don’t like it. BUT if you break it into its components and ask people if they’re in favor of those, they overwhelmingly say yes.
And the difference between watching fox news and MSNBC is that if I do watch MSNBC (which I don’t that often) I take it with a grain of salt knowing it has a bias. Fox News is RIDICULOUSLY biased and the people watching it take it as the supreme truth.

Ok, so your father is a doctor. Thats really cool and all, but what are you that you know so much about this shit? thats not criticism, i’m genuinely asking. Obamacare is a 1000 page long bill. And then the Supreme Court ruled in favor of it in a 150 page court case with multiple concurrences and dissents. I just don’t think its possible to sum it up in a few sentences like you did and then say that everyone should really be in favor of it its all really good. I’m not saying I agree or disagree with Obamacare, but everyone needs to at least recognize that there are many reasons to be for or against it. To say that everyone should support it only does good things is very naive. There are DEFINITELY cons to it.

Hospitals haven’t been able to turn people away from emergency rooms since the 80’s with reagan’s acts.  Therefore: we’ve already had Socialism in healthcare for decades now—your taxes pay for people who go to the emergency room with diabetes and can’t pay for it.  You don’t need to get over it cuz that’s been the case for decades.
“Obamacare” is just giving you and others a few additional options, that’s all.  People really need to chill with the comedy and overreactions and just try to fucking relax and think.  This video skews the issue as many do and I hope others read this and look into the facts here.

It’s worth noting that there are a lot of other things besides national parks that won’t be functioning. The entire Environmental Protection Agency is down. The Center for Disease Control is stopping its flu program. While food stamps are still going, WIC, a similar program for pregnant women and their children, is halted entirely. Occupational Safety and Health Review is not running, nor is public housing being funded (though most can run off savings for at least a couple weeks). About 800,000 employees are not working, many of which will never be paid for the time they can’t go into work. That’s roughly the population of San Francisco. This is not a small matter that won’t affect the general public.

Also vets won’t be getting their benefits!!!!! So all those tea party republicans that claim to love our troops apparently don’t love them enough to stop acting like insolent children.

Simmer down everybody..only NON ESSENTIAL employees are staying home.  We should do this like once every month.  As for Obamacare, anyone who is a functioning human being and has to buy insurance will see their rates skyrocket..like we have.  Anyone notice how many companies are changing 30 hour employees to 29?  Betches, let’s not all drink the Democrats Kool-Aid.

You’re a fucking twat. Only non-essential employees? These are people who are not even getting paid while the rich congress get paid to do shit all. Do this once a month, are you insane? Obamacare hasn’t even been implemented yet and you’ve seen your insurance premiums skyrocket for the past 10 years.
      Do you even economics 101?

America just seems to be scared of a socialist system. This system (well kinda, except it has been stripped down to shit by disgruntled capitalist congressman) has been a tested system in countries like Australia and Canada, AND HAS BEEN PROVEN TO WORK!! In fact these systems have been in place since the 1970’s. Yes there was a lot of opposition to the idea at first as well, but these countries decided to take the thumb out of their arse and do what was best for ALL people in their country, not just the people who were able to afford it.

Also, a “Democrat betch” does not exist, so any of you labeling yourselves as such should probably feel free to remove yourself from society (or at least splity your ‘wealth’ among the other “Dem betches.”

Actually, this should have mattered to everyone.  Head Start Progams had to close (meaning little kids couldn’t go to school) and sexual assult victims were turned away at the door because the funding for these programs was delayed (as well as many other important programs like these).  So to make it seem like nothing relevant happened is completely inaccurate because any decent human being should care about this happening to people that desperately need help.
